Few Most Common Questions AboutMonthly Disposable Contact Lenses

Monthly disposable contact lenses have been around for quite some time now. Before, thanks to their high prices, they were affordable only by the elite section of the society. Also, those replacing spectacles were a huge thing and there were many rumours about using contacts. This also gave rise to many myths regarding them. In this article, we shall explore some of the most frequently asked questions regarding contact lens and also bust a few myths.

How to wear these optic lenses?

The way you used to hold a lens with one index finger by diluting in a solution, unlike that process you don’t have to dilute or wash the device. Simply wear the lens into your eye one by one and use micro projectors glass with it to see social apps of your Smartphone running upon it. no need to take out device or switch on the screen, directly view messages, reply back and send data without using hands at all.

By the coming months it would be difficult for people to say whether they get used to the device or not. Hence, price is not declared that is why average sale predictions are not possible to showcase online.

How does contact lens work?

A little bit of Physics and biology here. The light from outside (from the objects around us) enters the eye through the cornea. These rays are then bent to pass through the pupil (through the iris, the coloured ball which you see in your eye).

A lens is located behind the pupil. This lens focuses the light rays on the retina, which is then perceived by the brain.

Refractive errors occur when the image formed by the lens is either in front of the retina (myopia) or behind it (hypermetropia). To obtain a correct clear vision, the image should form on the retina.

Spectacles and the monthly disposable contact lenses work almost in the same way they make the light rays focus on the retina.

What kinds of contacts are available?

There are basically two kinds of contacts available – silicone hydrogel contacts lens and rigid gas permeable monthly disposable contact lenses. The latter are a kind of old school and are not that commonly used these days. However, silicone hydrogel contacts are used more commonly because they are very thin and are very easy for the eyes to get adjusted to.
